Dr. Jean LaCour is a Certified Prevention Professional (CPP), an author, and a trainer with extensive experience in the addiction recovery field. She is the co-founder of the NET Training Institute Center for Addiction and Recovery Education
Her mission is to raise the standard of care through worldwide collaboration and comprehensive online addiction recovery training.  Since 1996, Dr. Jean LaCour and the NET Institute have trained thousands of people who desire to serve the addicted, the marginalized, and the poor.  She oversees curriculum development, faculty selection and insures the maintenance of professional standards.  She also interacts with professional Certification Boards and represents the Institute nationally and internationally.

As a tireless advocate for people in recovery and for people who serve in the addiction field around the world, Dr. LaCour launched the Recovery Heroes Initiative in 2009.  She has served as a national panelist for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and serves on its Partners for Recovery steering committee helping to differentiate and validate recovery support services from addiction treatment services.  She is currently President of the UK based International Substance Abuse and Addiction Coalition (ISAAC) with members in seventy nations.  She has trained in sixteen nations as a consultant, curriculum developer and an international participant in United Nations projects.   She is creator of the podcast ‘Prevailing Wins in Recovery’ hosted online by the Women’s Information Network.

Dr. LaCour has worked in India, Egypt, Russia, Pakistan, and Malaysia as a trainer and consultant.  She took part in the United Nations NGO drug policy workgroup in Vienna, Austria in 2008 and was a special NGO invitee to the UN General Assembly in New York in 2012 which addressed the impact of drugs and crime on developing nations.  In support of a UN project in Egypt, she trained over 100 HIV/AIDS and addiction workers from a dozen Arab nations in 2009 while sponsoring and validating the first professional addiction certification examination in the Middle East.  For two years she served as the statewide Faith Coordinator for the Florida Department of Children and Families.
